personal style Theo has very childlike features, all small and petite for his rather short size. Many like to tease him for his little ‘height impairment’, but he’s learned to use it to his advantage. He’s rather light, but it’s a healthy weight to match his small stature. Of course, you won’t find a lot of muscle on him unfortunately. He’s never been much of a fighter or an athlete, so he hasn’t had a chance to exactly work out. His skin is fairly pale, but it works well with his big blue eyes and dark brown hair that often finds its way in front of his eyes. Unfortunately with such light skin and being so easy to bruise, when someone hurts or cuts him the aftermath lingers for awhile. When it comes to other minor features, his lips are pretty thin and he doesn’t have any piercings or tattoos of any type. He is too terrified to get in a mile distance of a needle.
As far as clothes go, he loves hoodies and skinny jeans. Normally he’s wearing graphic t-shirt underneath and at times he even throws on a hat. The problem with hats is they always fall off and he loses them, so typically he doesn’t wear accessories. He doesn’t wear any make-up and doesn’t own anything like an expensive watch. His parents never went out of their way to get another good quality. [/ul]

history At age 9, Theo couldn’t recall anything other classmates frequently mentioned in class. Presents for their birthdays? Creating a mess in the kitchen? Having ‘family nights’? It was all so weird to him, and when he would ask about it he would be given strange looks. Theo slowly withdrew himself more from the other children his age, which only meant he was avoiding the only people that could help him. No one could understand why he was so ‘messed up’. His mother was home 24/7 cleaning and cooking, and his father was an active member of the police department. Everyone thought his life should be a cliché story of a protective influential father and a nurturing homemaker mother. They pretended to be that way when others eyes were watching, but when the doors were closed and blinds were pulled down everything changed. His mother became the slave of his father’s OCD desires for cleanliness, driven to a rage when something wasn’t organized right or there was a speck of dust where it shouldn’t be. The punishment for such a foul deed? Pain. Theo didn’t experience much of it early on in his life, simply a defenseless baby that watched him mom get slapped or thrown into walls for ‘being a bitch’ and ‘not doing anything right’.
Around the age of 6, the treatment was soon turned to him. When he didn’t clean his room, he was locked in a small dark closet in their house. He received the same punishment if he didn’t wash the dishes enough or had caused something to accidentally unalign. An adult would think it was a stupid punishment, but as a child still afraid of monsters and what went bump in the night Theo was terrified. He’d scream and breakdown, begging his father to open the door. He’d tell him he’d be a good boy and that he’d never do it again. Even with his pleas, his father left him in the room and his mom always in the house was too afraid to help her only son. The punishments got worse as time went on if Theo did worse things. Spill a glass? Drop a plate? Bring mud in? Those few deeds resulted with Theo being beaten like his mother, being told he was scum, that he was as worthless as that mud on the floor, and that his crying only made him look more pathetic. In fear of more beatings, Theo always hid the bruises and cuts, just wishing it would all stop.
One huge rule of his father’s was no animals. He thought they were covered with fleas, dirt, and ticks. The only people Theo could get along with were animals, as his classmates by this time pushed him away from their activities and friendships. One day, unexpectedly a black and white cat followed him home. He kept telling the kitten to go home, and that he’d get in trouble if his father thought he brought a cat home. The cat was so thin though and mewing so pathetically that Theo got it some food and for the new few weeks fed and played with it. He never dared bring it inside, but he would sit outside when his father was out and pet her. He’d tell her about his problems, about how his father was so violent, and that he didn’t know what to do. With this cat, who he later named ‘Socks’ and his only friend, he figured out he didn’t deserve this treatment. The police might not believe him because his father was an officer, but he could at least try.
Eventually his friendship with Socks had to end. After one afternoon with her, he went back inside like always after feeding and playing with her… when she wouldn’t leave. His father was already home, smiling and smelling the dinner his mom and finished making, and Socks kept mewing at the door. Eventually the sound aggravated his father to the point of getting up and opening the door to tell that cat to scram. The minute he opened the door the kitten ran towards Theo and began to circle his legs, purring lovingly. Terror soon filled Theo eyes and he looked up at his father who was glaring at him. He begged his dad not to hurt Socks, that it was all his fault, but before he could stop his father the man grabbed the cat by the scruff. Tears in his eyes he ran after his father who grabbed the knife on the table and went outside. Pulling on his fathers arm, he yelled and hit him to let go of Socks. That when the hissing of the cat stopped and he felt blood on his face. His father a slashed the cat’s neck… and Sock’s blood was on his face…
Broken by this time Theo ran out before his father could grab him, wiping the blood off his face on to his sleeve, and sprinting to police station a few blocks in town. There he spilled everything. How his father abused him and his mother, how his father had some type of disorder, how he killed the cat… For awhile they seemed to be shocked… until his father came in… With tears in his father’s eyes, he explained a different story. That recently Theo had been ‘hearing voices’ and when he came home he found a cat in the backyard stabbed to death. His father had changed out of his own bloody clothes, wearing his working uniform… forming the perfect alibi. Theo tried to get the other police officers to believe him, but they all suddenly gave him a look of disgust. Eventually he was sent to Worden Academy, his whole family and neighbors thinking he’s schizophrenic, leaving as the only one that knew that truth that would say anything…
At least his wish came true.
He was away from his father…
Only to end up in a new hell…

roleplaying sample Functioning like he had before the ‘incident’ was difficult. He couldn’t smile like he usually did, he couldn’t talk to his friends in his normal optimistic style, and every teacher he had run into asked if he was sick. Many thought he looked ill and as if he hadn’t gotten any sleep. Eventually the nurse sent him to his dorm for the rest of the day to ‘relax’. Theo couldn’t though. He was restless, but at the same time exhausted from all the crying. It wasn’t only the fact that the other boy drank a whole bottle of liquor in one sitting or had cut himself so deep that he could have killed himself. Now… now he didn’t know what to do. He had scared Kayden earlier with saying ‘he needed to take a break’, not meaning it in the relationship context. Now though… Quinn had made a good point that Kayden had punched him and that he hadn’t deserved it. Maybe it was for the best? Theo tried to agree with himself, but instead whimpered and felt his eyes grow blood shot again. He thought he had cried all his tears out. To the freshman’s remorse, there were still some left.
“No… no more crying…” he muttered, bringing his knees against his chest and covering his eyes. Taking a few deep breathes he tried to regain his self control. He needed to go back to his old self. Being sad like this… it wasn’t healthy. If he kept avoiding Kayden, not answering his phone, and ignoring people, things wouldn’t be fixed. The only person he had seen between the online situation and now had been Quinn, who had comforted him to a decent amount. Biting his lower lip, he turned so his legs were hanging off the bed and reached for his cell phone. He slowly typed in his boyfriend’s number, but before he could push ‘send’, closed his phone. Theo couldn’t bring himself to talk to him. Though he hadn’t said much about his opinion on the chat about what Kayden did, he had strong emotions towards it all. It terrified him that one day the other boy could drink himself to death, and it hurt him even more that Kayden didn’t trust him. Kayden hadn’t directly said he doubted Theo’s loyalty when he invited Asher privately… but writing that on the bathroom wall and bashing Asher like that… Theo didn’t know what to make of it. Truly, Theo felt hurt all over from the inside of his heart to the outside as if he was covered with purple bruises.
When the door was suddenly knocked on, he looked up startled. Chance probably forgot his key again. Sighing, he rose from the bed and let a hand ruffle his messy hair as he walked towards the door. Turning the knob, his gaze that was lowered towards the ground soon came face to face with the boy he had been thinking about for awhile now. Immediately his stomach tightened and Theo bit his lower lip. He wasn’t going to cry. No more crying. Blinking away the tears, he didn’t know how to react. A part of him wanted to leap at the other boy, smiling as he hugged him, thankful he was safe. Another… wanted to just close the door and curl up in his bed again. “H-hey Kayden,” he said, allowing a faint smile to reach his features. Eyes then settled on what he was carrying, the smile curling a small amount more. Reality kicked him again though when he remembered why the boy had the cake in the first place. He was apologizing…
Swallowing hard, and for once feeling awkward around the other boy, he stepped back into the room to allow the other boy in. “You can come inside… if you want…” he said, his voice faint and not making eye contact. He was acting just like he acted around new people he didn’t know. Timid and shy. It wasn’t right after getting so close to Kayden physically and emotionally. Nonetheless, he didn’t know what else to do. Once the other boy was inside, he wandered towards his bed to sit down. “Is your… um, wrist okay?” he asked, the smile fading to a small pout. For this comment he finally looked up at the other boy. Out of all the things going on his head there was one obvious thing he had wanted and would probably always want. No matter if they were together, broken up, next to each other, or miles away, he wanted Kayden to be safe and happy. That would never change. [/ul]
